雪虫が飛び交い、雪の季節の訪れを感じる今日この頃。
紅葉の美しい時季でもあります。

It has become more and more like autumn every day. How have you been?
As it gets colder, bugs and animals are starting to get ready for winter here in Furano now.
The snow bugs are flying around. Meaning of this, we say it will snow soon.
At the same time, autumn leaves are beautiful in this season too.

今回ご紹介するのは、「後藤純男美術館」さん。

This time, Ms.Sayaka Miyamura, who works as the person in charge of guest relations, is going to show you [Goto Sumio Museum].
上富良野町に位置する「後藤純男美術館」さんへは、新富良野プリンスホテルから車でおよそ30分。
美しい田園風景の中をドライブしているとあっという間に到着します。
[Goto Sumio Museum] is located in Kami Furano Town. It takes about 30 minutes by car from Shin Furano Prince Hotel.
When you drive through the beautiful countryside, the time seems to fly by.
千葉の僧家に生まれ、22歳で画家として歩み始めた後藤純男氏。
日本国内のみならず中国、ヨーロッパと旅を重ね、多くの作品を描かれました。
こちらの美術館は、上富良野の地の美しさに惹かれ1997年、自身の作品を散逸させることなくここでご覧いただきたいとの思いで建てられたとのこと。
Mr.Sumio Goto, a son of the temple, was born in Chiba prefecture in Japan. He became a professional painter when he was 22.
He did not go around only in Japan and also in China and Europe to paint a lot. He was attracted to Kami Furano Town surrounded by beautiful nature so he built this museum for many people to see his paintings without dissipation in 1997.
日本の美術界を代表する日本画家、後藤純男氏の数々の作品。
展示室の壁一面を覆う壮大な絵画に引き込まれます。
There are many artworks painted by Mr.Goto Sumio, one of famous Japanese - style painters, are displayed on the wall.
You will feel like you are about to get sucked into his artworks.

An exhibition room for sketch
7つの展示室では、大きな作品から素描、展示会の際制作されたポスターまで多くの作品を楽しむことができます。
You can enjoy lots of his artworks such as big paintings, sketch artworks and posters in 7 exhibition rooms.
岩絵具で描かれるという日本画。
後藤純男氏が使っていたという岩絵具の展示もあり、日本画への興味もますます深まります。
Japanese - style paintings are usually painted with natural mineral pigments.
The natural mineral pigments used by Mr.Goto are also displayed.

今回案内してくださったのは、「後藤純男美術館」課長、中里 真文（なかざと まさふみ）さん。
Mr. Masafumi Nakazato, a manager of Goto Sumio Museum, took me around.
「こちらは日本画壇を代表する画家、後藤純男先生の描いた作品を展示した美術館です。
後藤純男先生の作品は画面いっぱいに描かれ、どなたに観ていただいてもとてもわかりやすい作品です。
日本画というと水墨画のような白黒の絵画をイメージされる方が多いのですが、
現代の日本画は岩絵具を使用して描くことが多いです。
岩絵具とは石や岩を細かく砕いて粉にした絵の具で、それらを使って描くことは現代日本画の技法のひとつでもあります。
また、紙は和紙をキャンパスとして描いています。
北海道というと雄大な自然や美味しい食事を求めていらっしゃることが多いと思いますが、
そこにスパイスとして日本伝統の日本画という文化に触れていただけると嬉しいです。」
He said “ This is the museum displayed paintings of Mr. Sumio Goto who was a representative of Japanese-style paintings.
His artworks are painted on canvas fully. I’m sure everybody will be impressed by them.
Generally speaking, many people think Japanese-style paintings are black and white but natural mineral pigments are most likely used for them in this day and age.
These are powder paint materials made from rocks and stones. It is one of the techniques in modern Japanese painting.
Also, Japanese paper “washi” is used instead of canvas.
When it comes to Hokkaido, you will imagine food or beautiful nature but I hope you will be exposed to Japanese traditional artworks as well.”
そして「後藤純男美術館」さんの嬉しいところは、芸術と北海道の大自然と美味しい食事を楽しめるところ！
併設された「レストラン ふらのグリル」さんでは、上富良野特産のかみふらのポークやふらの和牛、季節の新鮮な野菜をふんだんに使った
北海道ならではの料理を味わうことができます。
In fact, you are able to enjoy both wonderful artworks and good food in nature.
The museum has an adjoining with a restaurant ‘Furano Grill’ which serves dishes with local pork, beef and fresh vegetables etc.
この日、宮村がいただいたのは「ふらの和牛の包みハンバーグ 季節の野菜添え」。
こちらのレストランで人気No.1のメニュー、ハンバーグをふらの和牛で包み、ポークも和牛も味わえる贅沢なメニューです！
この他にも肉料理、魚料理、パスタやピザ、スイーツなど北海道の食材をふんだんに使用したメニューがたくさん。
窓の向こうには田園風景や雄大な十勝岳の姿を眺めることができ、お天気がよければテラス席での食事も可能です。
美術館で絵画を楽しみランチを、また美術館で過ごしティータイムをレストランでという方もいらっしゃるそうです。
Ms.Miyamura had ‘Hamburger steak wrapped with a slice of Furano Wagyu(beef) and seasonal fresh salad on the side” on that day.
This is actually the most popular menu at the restaurant.
There are meat dishes, fish dishes, pasta, pizza and sweets other than that.
You will be able to see a view of the countryside or magnificent Mt. Tokachi from the window. If the weather is good, you can sit on the terrace.
