「HELLOふらプリ」、今回も好評をいただいているプロフェッショナルシリーズのお話です。
『富良野ゴルフコース スタッフに密着 Professional Works』と題し、ゴルフ場のお仕事を紹介します！
プリンスホテルズ＆リゾーツの「富良野ゴルフコース」は
世界的に有名なかの名匠アーノルド・パーマーが北海道の大地に描いた二つのコースを持っています。
距離のあるパーマーコースはトーナメント開催も視野に入れた戦略性を備え、もう一方のキングコースは初心者にも楽しんでいただける設計。
全国各地、世界各地からそのコースを味わいたいと多くのゴルファーを迎え入れるゴルフ場も、日々のメンテナンスや管理があってこそ
その魅力を生み出し、維持できるもの。
今回は、そのゴルフ場のメンテナンスや管理のお仕事を紹介します。
Hello, everybody. How have you been? “HELLO FURAPURI” has received good reports about the articles of Professional Works these days.
We will show you the staff's works at Furano Golf Course this time.
Furano Golf Course, produced by Prince Hotels & Resort, consists of two courses designed by Arnold Daniel Palmer, world-famous golfer.
The golf tournament is sometimes held on the long distance Palmer course. On the other hand, the King Course is for beginners.
To maximize the appeal of the Golf Courses, it is important to welcome golfers from all over the Japan & world, willing to enjoy the course.
We will show how they do the maintenance and management of the golf course this time.

誰よりも早く朝5時30分にはゴルフ場に。
コースを見まわり、その日の状況と仕事内容をスタッフと共有、和田の1日が始まります。

The greenkeeper of Furano Golf Course
He is on the golf course at 5:30, earlier than anyone else.
He walks through the course and checks on the condition of the green and lets the staff know what to do on that day.
This is how the day begins.
グリーン整備で最初に行うのはカップ切り（カップの位置調整）。
当日のコンディションに合わせ、どこにカップを配置するか考え設置します。
The first thing to maintain the green is to adjust the position of the hole.
He sets the hole depending on the green condition on the day.
広大なゴルフ場、毎日の芝刈りや散水もかかせず日々の芝の状態を見て判断、細かなメンテナンスが必要になります。
お客さまのプレイと重ならないように、もし近くに居合わせた場合はプレイに集中していただけるよう芝刈り機のエンジンを切ります。
また、安全確保のためにもお客さまの前方で作業をすることはありません。
A vast golf course is needed to maintain carefully, such as mowing the lawn and sprinkling water every day.
The staff will turn off the lawn mower’s engine for golfers to concentrate if they are playing golf nearby their work.
They will never work ahead of golfers to ensure their safety.
散水はスプリンクラーで行いますが、どうしても水の届かない場所が発生します。
そこは手動！タンク車を寄せ水の届いていない部分に散水します。
There are places where the water sprinkler can't reach. In that case, they sprinkle water manually from the water tank track.
メンテナンスが必要なのはゴルフ場のグリーンだけではありません。
グリーンをメンテナンスするための機械もそのうち。
What they need to maintain is not only the green. The machine is also needed to maintain.
富良野出身の和田は富良野ゴルフコースの管理に携わりおよそ17年、長年積み重ねた経験を活かし
さまざまな機械のメンテナンスも可能な限り社内で取り組みます。
芝の切れ具合を見ながら、刃の微調整は毎日。
特にゴルフシーズンの始まり、4月は機械整備に追われます。
この整備がとても重要で、シーズン中の機械トラブルを極力少なくするため、また安全の為にも念入りに準備をします。
Mr.Wada was born in Furano. He has worked at Furano Golf Course for about 16 years.
He tries to maintain various machines, putting his past experience to good use within the company.
He checks the lawn after cutting them and makes minor adjustments to the cutting tooth every day.
He is swamped with doing maintenance on the machines, especially in April.
Preventive maintenance is one of the most important things to avoid the machine trouble during the season, also for safety.
4月にゴルフ場がオープンするとスタッフも機械もフル稼働。
11月初旬までは、お客さまに心地よくプレイしていただけるよう注力します。
そして迎える冬。
11月半ば、ゴルフ場の最終メンテナンスを終えた後、和田は富良野スキー場での仕事に移ります。
スキー場では冬期間、索道スタッフとして勤務。
リフトの運行やスキー場整備に携わり、ここでも世界から訪れるお客さまに安全に心ゆくまで楽しんでいただけるよう努めます。
All the staff and machines are at full strength when the golf course is open in April.
They focus on the golf course maintenance to make sure customers are happy to play until the beginning of November.
Winter
Mr. Wada starts working at Furano Ski Resort after the final maintenance at the golf course in the middle of November.
He works as a staff for gondola lifts during the winter season.
He also works hard for the guests, visiting here from all over the world, to let them enjoy safely.
3月初旬、スキー場ではまだまだスキーを楽しめる時期ですが、和田は一足先にゴルフ場の勤務へ移ります。
一番初めの仕事は、雪解けを促すためグリーン一面に融雪剤を撒くこと、
この頃すでにゴルフ場の整備は始まっているのです。
和田の趣味はゴルフと、スキー、スノーボード。
だからこそ、お客さま視点のこうあってほしいという状態がわかり、こうありたいと思うおもてなしの姿勢に反映することができるのでしょう。
「春先の機械整備、真夏の散水作業、秋の落ち葉清掃など大変なこともありますが、
振り返ると自分のやったことが常に目に見え、日々達成感を感じています。
機械を操縦することもメンテナンスすることも自分の性分に合っていて楽しいですね。
また、職場のチームメンバーも仲良く仕事が円滑に進みます。
何より、自らが整備したゴルフ場でお客さまが生き生きとプレイしていらっしゃる姿を拝見することができ、とても嬉しいです。

と、笑顔で和田は語ってくれました。
In the beginning of March, he starts working at the golf course even though the ski resort is still open.
The first thing to do is scattering a snow melting chemical over the golf course.
It means that the maintenance of the golf course has already begun this time.
Mr. Wada loves playing golf, skiing and snowboarding.
That is why he spares no effort to make the guests satisfied.
Mr.Wada told us “ Maintaining the machines in spring, sprinkling water in hot summer or sweeping the fallen leaves in fall, etc…
They are tough jobs. But I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I see the work I’ve done.
I think maintaining and operating the machine matches me.
What matters most to me is to see guests playing golf lively at the golf course I’ve done maintenance.
Furano Golf Course is very attractive because you can play golf while watching beautiful scenery which changes depending on the season.

さて、ゴルフ場には他にもさまざまなサポートをするスタッフが存在します。
There are other staff working at the golf course.
スキー・ゴルフ営業 アシスタントマネージャー（スキー・ゴルフサービス担当）渋谷 勝（しぶや まさる）。
渋谷の仕事はゴルフ場の運営に関すること全般。
朝8時、チェックインの仕事から始まります。
Masaru Shibuya: A sales rep at the Ski Resort and Golf course, an assistant manager
Mr.Shibuya manages the golf course.
He checks in guests at 8.
お客さまのお出迎え、受付、ご案内。
昼頃には、プレイ後戻っていらっしゃるお客さまの対応もします。
渋谷は1991年に入社、函館大沼プリンスホテルに勤務。そこでは「北海道カントリークラブ」で25年の経験を積みました。
その後2015年に転勤後、「富良野ゴルフコース」で日々お客さまをお迎えしています。
渋谷の仕事は多岐に渡り、現場を見ながら事務仕事もこなします。
毎日のメールチェックや予算組み、管理、調整、請求書のチェックなどなど、デスクワークに追われることもあります。
Welcoming guests, checking in at reception and ushering.
He takes care of guests coming back in the afternoon as well.
Mr.Shibuya joined the company in 1991.
Then he was assigned to Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel. He gained 25 years of experience in Hokkaido Country Club.
He covers a wide range of works. He does administrative work while checking the floor.
He sometimes has tons of things to do such as checking emails, compiling a budget, managing, adjusting and checking the invoice, etc…
「お客さまの対応を第一に、現場を見ながら時間割を考えデスクワークをこなします。
長年培った経験をここでも活かせるよう、奮闘しています。
一番気をつけていることは、お客さまの安全安心、
楽しく思い出に残るプレイをしていただけるよう気配りを心がけています。
お越しくださったお客さまの声を大切にくみあげ、商品化して喜んでいただけたことや
手紙をいただいたこと、お礼をおしゃってくださった時など嬉しいこともたくさんあります。
一緒に働くスタッフにもお客さまとの出会いからそのような体験をしてほしいですね。

と渋谷は語っています。
Mr.Shibuya said ”Of course, customer support is the first. So I do administrative works based on the timetable while checking the floor.
I’m striving to handle my work by using past experience. The most careful thing for me is to ensure guests’ safety. I always keep in my mind that guests can enjoy playing golf.
There are many things that made me happy.
Things like customers were grateful when we managed to commercialize their ideas.
I have even received letters from the customers. I hope our staff will have these kinds of experiences throughout meeting with customers.
The location of Furano Golf Course is the best!
The Palmer Course which you can enjoy “Hokkaido” and The King Course is for beginners.
I will do everything what I can do to make customers come here again. “
それぞれがそれぞれの舞台でなくてはならない役割を果たし、ゴルフコースを運営しています。
2024年富良野ゴルフコースのオープン予定は4月13日（土）、渋谷や和田、多くのスタッフがみなさまのお越しを楽しみにしています！
The Furano Golf Course is run by many staff who work at different departments with a sense of responsibility.
The Furano Golf Course is open on April 13th(Sat) in the 2024 season.
Mr.Shibuya, Mr.Wada and many staff are looking forward to seeing you.
