「HELLOふらプリ」、今回は『富良野スキー場 パトロール隊に密着 Professional Works』と題し、スキー場パトロール隊のお仕事を紹介します！
Hello everyone!
We are going to introduce our ski patrol party is entitled “Professional Works”
世界的にもその雪質の良さで注目をあびる「富良野スキー場」。
フカフカのパウダースノーが多くのスキーヤー、ボーダーの心をつかんで離しません！
でも、スキー場で安全に楽しめるのも、パトロール隊の整備と見守りがあってこそ。
今回は、富良野スキー場のパトロール隊のお仕事を紹介します。
Furano Ski Resort is famous for the great snow condition all over the world.
If you go there once, you will be addicted to the powder snow.
You can enjoy skiing or snowboarding because the patrol party does regular maintenance on Ski Resort and look out all the time.
Therefore, we introduce the work of the patrol party in Furano Ski Resort this time.
富良野スキー場コース管理スーパーバイザー パトロール隊 東 秀和（あずま ひでかず）隊長。
富良野生まれの富良野育ち、生粋の富良野人。
富良野スキー場に勤め、30年が経ちます。
Furano Ski Resort Course management Supervisor ,The chief of the patrol party: Hidekazu Azuma
He was born and raised in Furano.
He has worked at Furano Ski Resort for thirty years.
パトロール隊の朝は早く、スキー場のオープン前に始まります。
The patrol party starts working before the Ski resort opens.
その日のパトロール隊員たちと情報共有を済ませ、さっそくロープウェーに乗り込み山頂駅へ向かいます。
At first, all the members working on that day share information each other.
Then, they go to the summit station by the ropeway.
ロープウェーに乗っている間は、コース上に異常がないか、高い位置からスキー場のコースを見渡します。
They look down the course from high up for checking for any abnormalities while they are on the ropeway.
山頂に到着すると、まずは積雪量とコンディションのチェックから。
As soon as they get to the top, they check the amount of snowfall and its condition.
そして、場内パトロールの開始です！
And they start patrolling in the area.
コース上のネットフェンス設置やポールの確認を丁寧に行います。
They install net fences and check poles on each course.
コース内に亀裂が入っていないか、もし亀裂を発見した場合は連絡を取り、雪崩回避の作業に移ります。
パトロール隊の確認は、雪面のみではありません。頭上にも注意を払います。
お客さまがスキー、スノーボードを楽しんでいらっしゃる時に木に積もった雪が落ちてくると大けがにつながる可能性が。
パトロール隊は、危険と思われる木の上の雪を払い落とし、お客さまの安全確保に努めます。
They are also careful about checking cracks the slopes. When they find them, they start working for averting avalanches as they get touch with other members.
They don’t only check the surface but also watch one’s head.
They shovel snow off trees if there are lots of snows on them for your safety.
富良野スキー場北の峰ゾーンの人気コース”プレミアムゾーン”では、毎朝10:00オープンを目指して雪崩安全対策を取ります。
They finish patrolling and preparing in case of an avalanche by 10 in the morning before a popular course called“Premium Zone” in Kitanomine-Zone opens.
表層雪崩を人為的に起こしたり雪庇を崩すことで、アバランチコントロール（雪崩予防）を行います。
今日も尾根を徒歩で登り、雪庇（せっぴ・風によってできる雪の塊）を落とす作業に取り掛かります。
とても危険な作業ですが、お客さまの安全のためには欠かせません。
They control avalanches while inducing artificial surface avalanches and breaking snow cornice.
They climb the ridge to break or drop the snow cornice. It is a very dangerous work as you can imagine but it is necessary for your safety.
「ここからの景色を見ると、疲れが吹っ飛ぶかな。」と笑顔の東隊長。
ささやかなご褒美のような景色です！
The chief,Mr.Azuma says “The stunning view from here makes me refreshed.”
It is like a treat!
富良野スキー場パトロール隊 東隊長に「パトロールの仕事で辛い点は？」と、聞いてみました。
We ask the chief of Furano Ski Resort, Mr. Azuma,“ What is a tough part of your job?
「怪我をした方の救助は僕たちの仕事の一つではありますが、楽しみにいらっしゃっているので救助の場面ではやはり切なくなりますね。
そして、怪我をされた方のお連れさま、ご家族の精神的なサポートも大切です。
そのような場面を減らすため、怪我を未然に防ぐコース状況を作ることに日々努めています。」
小さい頃からずっと今もスキーが大好きで、この富良野スキー場に育ててもらった、スキー場に感謝している。
切ない場面もあるが、パトロールの仕事はとても楽しいとも語る東隊長。
一通り朝の安全確保が終わると定期的に巡回し、怪我をされた方に素早く対応する為に山頂で待機、救助に備えるとのこと。
この日も取材を終えると笑顔で会釈、ロープウェーに乗って山頂を目指します。
He said“ It is a part of our job to rescue someone who got injured. However, it is painful if I think of him or her. Because he or she was going to have a good time. At the same time, we need to care about his or her partner and family. Therefore,to prevent accidents, we make efforts to do maintenance all the courses every day.”
The chief, Mr.Azuma says that I have loved skiing since I was a little and feel like this Furno Ski Resort raised me, so I am really thankful of that. I sometimes face to painful situation but I really like this job
After they finish working for ensuring the safety, they start patrolling regularly. They are on call at the top in case of rescue.
He went back to the top by the ropeway with smiling after the interview on this day.
日々お客さまの安全確保に全力を尽くすパトロール隊。
富良野スキー場になくてはならない、心強い存在です！！！
